Witches & Demons
Another CAST show, another blog!!!!!
CAST's 2007 summer show will consist of two separate one act plays on a similar dark theme. The show will be staged as another of our very successful 'supper nights' with the audience seated around large circular tables, waitress service and a Ploughman's supper served in the interval.
The two plays are as follows;
Act 1. After Midnight - Before Dawn by David Compton
The characters await death, having been sentenced for witchcraft. It is the late 1600s or early 1700s. Only the Calm Woman remains unmoved. On being questioned, she replies she will not hang. The Devil will look after his own. The others conclude she is indeed a witch-- and beg her to tell them how they too may gain Satan's protection.
Act 2. the Demon by Martin Downing
Escaping torrential rain, six friends flee to a high rise apartment and hear a terrifying announcement: one of them may be a serial killer possessed by the Devil. Then one meets a hideous death. The survivors embark on a desperate quest to find and destroy the fiend in their midst before more blood is spilled.

Costumes
I missed blogging, lots!!!!
So, having costumed the panto, Dick Whittington, with a little help from my friends, I now found myself as Wardrobe Mistress for both Mort and CAST Academy.
This is my blog to rabble about all things to do with costumes!!!

The Academy
Just as rehearsals started for Mort, our junior section called CAST Academy was reformed.
The leaders advertised in local papers and on the opening night we had 48 children though the door to fill just 30 places.
The group's debut show, "Let's Go to the Movies" will be performed on Friday 11th May and Saturday 12th May 2007.

Terry Pratchett's Mort
The Producer of this show emailed me, just as Dick Whittington came to an end and advised me that it was all my fault. He was starting a blog!!!
We started rehearsals for Mort Early in Jan 2007 and performed it on stage from March 21st to March 24th 2007.

In the beginning
Ok, I admit it, It was all my fault to start off with.
I was Producer for the group's 2006 pantomine, Dick Whittington, and decided to write a diary on how the show progressed on a day to day basis.
Just a few days later, I was hooked on blogging! You can read all about it at;

Hello!
CAST or Colnbrook Amateur Stage Theatre as we were originally known was formed in 1990. We are a thriving theatre group in East Berkshire with a membership of approx. 60 adults in the main group and 30 children in our junior section, CAST Academy which was reformed in January 2007.
On this blog you will find information about the group, but more importantly links to the many individual blogs that have been created to document the journey each show which we perform takes, from conception and voting in by the group, through auditions, rehearsals, set-builds, costume making and ultimately, the performances themselves.
Dive in and enjoy !
